10 Best TV Shows About Wrestling

7. The Wrestlers

VICE

Before Dark Side of the Ring, Vice produced this 10-episode travelogue of wrestling from around the world, offering a fascinating glimpse into the business far away from the mainstream.

From the American indie scene to indigenous Bolivian female wrestlers plotting to smash the patriarchy, those bringing wrestling to Canada's remote First Nations settlements, Congolese voodoo wrestling, and everything in-between, The Wrestlers is as entertaining as it is a totally noble undertaking.

It's so easy to see wrestling through the myopic prism of merely the biggest players - namely WWE, AEW, and NJPW - and so this riveting docu-series serves as a welcome reminder that it's a subculture that exists in diverse forms across the globe.

With Vice's usual technical polish and keen investigative lens, it's a damn shame this ended after just a single season.
