10 Best TV Shows About Wrestling
6. Tiger Mask W
One of two major anime wrestling shows, Tiger Mask W is an absolute delight. Though a spiritual successor to the original 1969-1971 Tiger Mask series, this newer show stands tall on its own.
From its awesome opening title sequence onwards, this is a series that knows precisely how to balance action with the expected outside-the-ring melodrama.
The real kicker for many, though, will be the constant nods to and invocations of real-life wrestling, from the WWE-esque rival corporation known as the Global Wrestling Monopoly (GWM), to the appearances from countless real NJPW superstars such as Kazuchika Okada, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Kenny Omega, and many more.
Sure, there's a fair amount of filler among its 38 episodes - it is an anime, after all - but the overwhelming charm and solid animation ensure it's always a fun sit.
