10 Best WCW Monday Nitro Matches Ever

9. Brian Pillman Vs. Jushin Liger (September 4, 1995)

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xqmcxn_wcw-1995-flyin-brian-vs-jushin-liger_sport This was the very first match on the very first edition of Monday Nitroy, a show that took place at the Mall of America in Minnesota, of all places. The reason they went with this match is because they were two of the guys that really started WCW's Cruiserweight Division before they had a title for their cruisers. They wrestled an exciting style where they worked at a fast pace, didn't slow down and always knew how to get the crowd excited. It was about an eight minute match with a lot of nearfalls for both guys. Liger was doing stuff that nobody else was doing at this point and the American wrestling crowd loved him for it. Pillman got the win after countering a Liger slam attempt, so Pillman's inside cradle was good enough to get the job done. If you're looking for their best match ever, check out SuperBrawl 1992. That's one of the best matches in WCW history as well as one of the best PPV openers there's ever been, but this one is nothing to sniff at.
