In terms of era-defining moments, do they get any more iconic than the sight of 'Mrs Foley's Baby Boy' lifting the big one in the middle of the Monday Night Wars?

That absolutely chaotic and utterly delightful victory for Mankind over The Rock in January 1999 showcased the very best of WWE's Attitude Era.

A rebellious D-Generation X warring with The Corporation at ringside, a glass shatter blowing the roof off of the building, and 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin helping everyone's favourite underdog fulfil his dreams of becoming WWE Champion.

And it was in this moment that Mick Foley finally felt like he was being recognised as one of the company's real top players after years of putting his body through hell for fans' entertainment.

A couple more title reigns would follow not long after, with the hardcore icon ending the year as a three-time WWE Champion after a number of battles against Rocky, Triple H, and Austin.

His time at the top may have been relatively brief. But no one will ever forget the times this deranged legend overcame the odds to lift world championship gold.
