He might be set to face-off with Shaquille O’Neal at next year’s WrestleMania, but The Big Show is no stranger to run-ins with celebrity opponents. On a February 2008 edition of Raw, Show returned to WWE programming by attacking Rey Mysterio following his World Heavyweight Championship match with Edge.

Floyd Mayweather was in the crowd, and took offence. The boxing champion hopped the barricade and challenged The Big Show, ending with Mayweather breaking Show’s nose with a lightning-quick combination.

The feud continued over the weeks, and while Mayweather was originally intended to play the face, the fans started cheering for Show. Thus, the roles were reversed, and the flashy, obnoxious Floyd reverted to his natural role as a cocky villain. The duo wrestled at WrestleMania XIV, when Mayweather whacked Show multiple times with a steel chair, before knocking him out with a set of brass knuckles.

Though technically a celebrity, Mayweather, as a professional boxer, brought considerable fighting credibility to the occasion. The match itself was a true spectacle occasion: Big Show literally dwarfed Mayweather, and it went over huge with the live crowd. In another universe, Floyd Mayweather would’ve been a great pro-wrestling heel.
