10 Best Wrestlers Of 2020

6. Drew McIntyre

Issues with the repetitive, exposition-heavy Randy Orton feud aside (throughout which the WWE Champion constantly reminded audiences of his past failures, painting him unfavourably), Drew McIntyre has crushed it from January to December, refining himself into a genuinely affable, endearing, and bad*ss babyface headliner to cap his WWE reinvention.

The 35-year-old has done everything in his power to make 2020 not suck. Dealt a worse hand than most, as the moment he finally became World Champion played out in an empty gymnasium, he has nonetheless smashed every aspect of his performance. An underrated in-ring year has yielded bruising bangers with Roman Reigns, Randy Orton (as tedious as their scripts became, the action was always on point), Bobby Lashley, Seth Rollins, and even Dolph Ziggler. He never cuts a duff promo and just like his opposite number, Jon Moxley, he is a tough, rugged babyface without sacrificing charm. WWE has needed a hero like this for a long time. Now, they have one.

It's rare to see a WWE figurehead stay this popular for this long without the fanbase turning on him, too. McIntyre's audience connection is immense. People root for him because they want to, not because they are told to, and WWE would do well to follow this blueprint with future top faces.
