10 Best Wrestlers To Never Win WWE Intercontinental Title

5. MVP

MVP was one of WWE's most promising stars during the late 2000s, and he was one of many stars with whom the company dropped the ball. He should have been a multi-time world champion and one of the men to lead WWE into the new decade, but he ended up requesting his release in 2010 after the company pulled back on pushing him yet again.

Earlier in his WWE career, though, he had quite a bit of fanfare, including what was arguably the greatest United States Title reign WWE's version of the championship ever had. MVP won the title and held it for 343 days, and while Dean Ambrose would ultimately break that record with a 351-day reign, Ambrose never defended the title, making it little more than a prop.

Of course, MVP's holding the U.S. Title meant he was a Smackdown superstar, which in turn meant he didn't have much of a chance of winning Raw's Intercontinental Title. Once the belt came to Smackdown, he challenged Dolph Ziggler for it unsuccessfully, then left the company weeks later. It should be noted, though, that he soon arrived in New Japan Pro Wrestling, and became the first man to win that promotion's Intercontinental Title.
