10 Best Wrestlers To Never Win WWE Intercontinental Title

4. Batista

Batista's size and look ensured that he was rocketed right to the top of WWE in nearly record time. He missed much of 2003 with injuries, but after a huge push in 2004, he won the 2005 Royal Rumble and headlined WrestleMania 21. He won the World Heavyweight Title at the show.

After that, Batista was a bona fide main eventer, collecting world titles like candy. By the time he left the company in 2010, he was a four-time World Heavyweight Champion and a two-time WWE Champion, and one of the few men to ever reach that status without having held any singles undercard titles.

Of course, Batista's failure to win the Intercontinental Title wasn't about a lack of trying. He received a high-profile title shot at SummerSlam 2004, taking on Chris Jericho and Champion Edge in a triple threat match. Though Batista was protected in the bout (Edge and Jericho had to team up to stop him and Edge ultimately pinned Jericho), he didn't walk away with the championship.
