10 Best Wrestlers Who Came Out Of The WCW Power Plant

2. Diamond Dallas Page

DDP was 35 years old when he finally decided to ditch the 80s manager look and become a serious pro wrestler WCW could be proud of. At the time, several within the company thought he was on a hiding to nothing, but Page's work ethic would not be denied. He literally pulled himself up from nothing to become a headline attraction.

Endless sessions at the Power Plant were DDP's life between 1991-1994.

They were necessary, in fairness. In interviews since, Page has admitted that he wasn't great when he started (who is?), but says he was determined to make something of himself and prove the doubters wrong. By 1997, he was having a match of the year candidate against Randy Savage at Spring Stampede. The following year, he was headlining pay-per-views with Hulk Hogan.

By 1999, Page was World Champ and riding high as one of WCW's biggest babyfaces. He's one of the few outside the nWo crew who was legitimately cool and over with fans. DDP achieved all of that when most wrestlers were considered "too old" to make an impact.
