10 Best Wrestlers Who Never Held The ROH World Title

6. Colt Cabana

Colt Cabana came close to winning the ROH World Championship at Global Wars 2016, but just as it seemed as though Jay Lethal was going to tap out to the Billy Goat's Curse the Bullet Club rushed the ring to ruin the night for everybody. Not many viewers believed going into the match that Colt had a chance, but the combination of a new serious demeanour and hometown advantage gave hope to those that did.

Colt Cabana is one of the biggest names in all of independent pro wrestling but this has less to do with his in-ring performances and more to do with his podcast and comedic chops. It is those chops that have arguably held Boom Boom back regarding in-ring success throughout his career.

But when one takes a step back and looks critically at Cabana's ROH career it is clear that the Chicago native has more than brought the goods when seriousness was needed. Cabana's biggest issue may not have been his comedy stylings but more than incredible talent that was also in ROH when Colt was at his peak.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
