10 Best Wrestlers Who Were Trained At The Hart Dungeon

2. Bret Hart

WWE.comWWE.comBret 'The Hitman' Hart is perhaps the most famous wrestler to emerge from the dungeon, but I don't think he's the best wrestler to graduate from the basement. That honour you will find out on the next page. Bret like younger brother Owen was probably running about the dungeon at an early age, probably being stretched when still a child. Indeed, Bret comments in his book 'Hitman' that Stu used to put him in all sorts of holds, at the same time as whispering 'morbid' words into his ear. That's pretty disturbing and shows a darker side to the dungeon, almost making it like an actual torture camp. Bret also commented on how the dungeon would leave broken blood vessels in his eyes. I guess that's why the place earned so much mystique and its ominous name, Stu really did run it like a place of punishment. Bret notes that he would be upstairs in the house when Billy Graham was training, with screams coming up through the floorboards. Despite the questionable 'stretching' when still a youth, Bret emerged with enough character and toughness to become a top star wrestler. He worked in Stampede before going to Vince McMahon in New York, becoming WWF Champion for the first time in 1992. What ended up being more famous was 'the Montreal screwjob' in 1997, but long term fans will always remember Bret as 'the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be!'
