10 Best Wrestling Dives

8. Jeff Hardy's Biggest Swanton Bomb (SummerSlam 2009)

Everybody knows that Jeff Hardy is a lunatic, and it’d be incredibly easy to populate this list with his dives alone. We’re going to restrict ‘The Charismatic Enigma’ to just a couple of choice cuts, however, starting with his epic Swanton Bomb at SummerSlam 2009.

Jeff’s feud with CM Punk was one of SmackDown’s biggest highlights that year, with the preachy Punk spending most of it deriding Hardy for his real-life struggles with addiction. They faced-off in a TLC for Hardy’s World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam, with Jeff delivering one of the most suicidal dives of his career.

With Punk set up on an announce table, Hardy started scaling one of those ridiculously oversized ladders he’s so fond of. The fans knew exactly what was coming, and they went nuts as Jeff posed atop the ladder, then crashed down on his opponent below, crushing the announce table.

It was a nasty landing, and Hardy was clearly struggling afterwards. Medics tried fitting him with a neck brace, but Jeff tore it off and continued fighting, marking him as one of the toughest crash test dummies in WWE history.
