10 Best Wrestling Dives

7. Shelton Benjamin's Long Way Down (WrestleMania 25)

Ladder matches have always been a great source of high spots, particularly those featuring more than one competitor. Give any elite athlete something high to leap off (and plenty of opponents to catch him) and he’ll almost certainly oblige, particularly if his name happens to be “Shelton Benjamin.”

An athletic marvel, ‘The Gold Standard’ was never able to break into WWE’s main event scene, but played a key midcard role for many years. Benjamin was always a safe inclusion in chaotic multi-man bouts as his speed, agility, and poise usually guaranteed at least a couple of high spots, and in WrestleMania 25’s Money In The Bank ladder match, Shelton stole the show.

With his opponents clustered on the floor, Benjamin scaled a ladder outside the ring, then leaped onto the pile of humanity below. It was a nasty landing, however: his opponents couldn’t quite position themselves in time, and Shelton caught way too much of the ground on impact. He still finished the match, and while Kofi Kingston would give him a run for his money with a number of crazy bumps, Benjamin’s dive stood as the biggest highlight.
