10 Best Wrestling Feuds Of 2020

4. Randy Orton Vs. Edge

WrestleMania 36 is the only thing stopping Edge vs. Randy Orton from placing higher. Too slow, methodical, and cumbersome for its own good, the Last Man Standing bout produced one great image in Edge finishing Orton with the chair spot that shelved him post-Royal Rumble, but was brutal viewing - and not in the way the artists intended.

The rest of the feud? Close to flawless.

Informed by their Rated-RKO history, Orton putting Edge down after his triumphant Rumble return (one of, if not the, most cathartic in the event's history) was the gut-punch the feud needed to get going. It resonated with the kind of impact that only something coming from over a decade of history can. Later, when Edge return at the Empty Arena Era's onset, weeks of visceral down-the-lens promos took us to 'Mania.

A letdown, yes, but what followed most certainly wasn't. Reprising his most compelling gimmick, Orton became 'The Legend Killer' once more, earning a second shot at 'The Rated-R Superstar' viciously punting a cast of beloved legends - including the "returning" Christian.

Did Backlash 2020 truly host the 'Greatest Wrestling Match Ever'? Well, no. The marketing was preposterous. Regardless, the duo delivered one of the best WWE bouts of the year with cinematic flair, keeping the door open for chapter three once Edge's injuries heal.
