10 Best Wrestling Matches For A Free Agent Daniel Bryan
8. Jay Lethal
Before Daniel Bryan made it to WWE, he was the ace of Ring of Honor. In September of 2005, he won the ROH World Championship, and he defended it in classic matches for 15 months before he was defeated by Homicide. Even after losing the belt, Bryan remained a major player in the company, engaging in an incredible feud with Takeshi Morishima.
Jay Lethal had a similar career trajectory. Already the most accomplished Television champion in ROH history, Lethal won the company's World Title in June of 2015. As a double champion, he'd become the most dominant Ring of Honor star since Samoa Joe - and by the time he lost the ROH World Championship in August of 2016, he was comfortably in the running for the best to ever hold the title.
What makes the bout especially alluring, though, is that both men are among the best big-match performers ROH has ever produced - while there's no shortage of talent among the company's alumni, Bryan and Lethal both know how to really infuse a main event with drama, in addition to technical excellence. A Bryan-Lethal bout would have that famous "big-match feel" before the two men even stepped in the ring.
