Though it is tempting to pit Bálor against fellow
face-painted high-flyer Darby Allin, Guevara’s skill level and place on the AEW
card make him a more suitable opponent than the current All Elite incarnation
of Allin.
Bálor is one of the best in-ring talents ever signed to NXT. A brief glance at the current roster and alumni show what a huge compliment that is. Guevara is an up-and-coming star, who has been shown to excel when paired with veteran talent, whether that be his mentorship with Chris Jericho or his feud with Matt Hardy.
Guevara’s star has lost some of its shine due to controversies in both his personal and professional life. Bálor is the perfect competitor to guide Guevara through a high-flying and high-risk clash, which would go a long way to repair Guevara’s reputation as an unsafe worker. And of course, provide a high energy spectacle for fans of both brands.
Bálor’s varied and storied career should be an inspiration to Guevara of what a wrestler on the smaller side (both men are 5 ft 11 in) can accomplish.
