10 Best Wrestling Matches I've Seen Live
5. The Undertaker Vs Shawn Michaels - WrestleMania XXVI (3/28/10)
At WrestleMania XXVII, The Undertaker defeated Shawn Michaels in a bout that many have since called the best in WWE history. At the end of 2009, Michaels graciously accepted a "Match of the Year" Slammy Award for his performance, but turned contrite, challenging Undertaker once again.
Undertaker, having no point to prove, refused Michaels's offer, but HBK doggedly pursued The Phenom. When he couldn't win the Royal Rumble to earn a title shot at 'Taker, he cost him the World Heavyweight Championship in the Elimination Chamber.
After that, a furious Undertaker was willing to meet Michaels at WrestleMania XXVI - but only if HBK would put his career on the line.
This time, the bout was a no disqualification match, and Michaels took advantage of the stipulation. While he worked 'Taker's leg over in the early goings as he did at WrestleMania XXV, the match soon spilled outside.
HBK managed to lay The Phenom out on the announcers' table with Sweet Chin Music, put him through said table with a moonsault from the turnbuckle, tossed him back in the ring, and hit another Sweet Chin Music... only for Undertaker to kick out.
Even though it was widely known that Michaels was looking to retire, that particular near-fall was about as convincing as they get.
Undertaker, of course, picked up the win, pinning a defiant Michaels after a jumping Tombstone. The bout was every bit the equal of their match the previous year, and I firmly believe the only reasons why it isn't remembered as fondly are that it came second, and that Matt Striker was on commentary instead of Jim Ross.
At the University of Phoenix Stadium, everybody knew that the match was second to none.
