TNA seems to be turning a corner. Okay, this is a sentence that has been typed on a bi-monthly basis for six years now, but something is going right for the time being in Dixieland. Broken Matt Hardy might be getting most of the plaudits, but the entire card has come together to put together some really entertaining stuff.

As such, it isn't so surprising that in a week that saw World Championship matches on RAW, SmackDown and Lucha Undergound (okay, not quite a World Championship), TNA's top title showdown topped the lot. Lashley defeated Eddie Edwards in Six Sides of Steel to not only retain his championship but also win Edwards' X Divison Championship, in what was a fantastic little sprint.

Lashley and Edwards work quite different styles, but everything meshed together well here. Not many would have had Edwards winning going into it, but he managed to draw the audience in through desire and ability, hitting a Boston Knee Party for a close two.

Lashley's size is the difference however, and three spears are too much for the American Wolf. Whatever you are doing TNA, please don't mess with it just yet.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
