As much as it tried to be, TNA was hardly genuine competition for WWE. Industry experts have bemoaned the lack of that competitive edge since WCW closed doors in 2001, and most made peace with the thought of never seeing a true wrestling war again. WWE had the monopoly, and that would never change, right?

Not so fast.

Tony Khan's money and the vision of guys like The Young Bucks and Cody represents hope for those who have long-since tired of WWE's domination in North America. Arguably, for the first time in almost 20 years, AEW's formation earlier this year gave Vince McMahon a few sleepless nights. Who knows what the future will bring?

All Elite have cash, a chip on their shoulders and want to provide a real alternative for fans and workers alike away from WWE's umbrella. It's still early days, but things look promising that AEW won't be a flash in the pan that'll crumble and disappear under the weight of expectation.
