10 Best Wrestling Moments Of The Last Decade

4. Shawn Michaels' Solo Swansong

Forget it, there will never be another worker quite like Shawn Michaels. His mix of athleticism, psychology and selling was lethal the first time around between 1988-98, but it somehow felt even better between 2002-2010. By the time he'd retired (almost for good) at WrestleMania XXVI, it was the end of an era.

In typical HBK fashion, he went out to The Undertaker in one of this generation's defining matches.

Although it'd be bold to claim that Shawn and 'Taker topped their prior effort at 'Mania XXV, they came damn close. The spectacle was also heightened by knowledge that Michaels would call it a career and go do something else with his life. That, to a certain age group of fans who remembered '98's soft-retirement, was agonising.

Yes, Shawn would sully his own plans by popping back up for an unnecessary tag-team match at Crown Jewel in 2018, but he deserves a spot on this list for what he achieved at 'Mania XXVI. His swansong as a solo act was beautiful, and it'll forever go down as one of the decade's best.
