Does he have your attention now?

If you watch WWE Backstage, then the answer's yes. If you don't, then CM Punk's return to the WWE sphere as a non-wrestling host must be disappointing. Back in 2011, there was nothing disappointing about his infamous "Pipe Bomb Promo" on the 27 June episode of Raw. He redefined promo expectations in just a few short minutes.

When Punk verbally cut down John Cena, Vince McMahon, Stephanie, Triple H and anyone else who incurred his wrath for being corporate suck-ups, the culture in WWE shifted. His shoot-style mic work was a breath of fresh air next to heavily-scripted snorefests, and it lit a personal fire under Punk that he was able to speak from the heart.

That one promo set Punk on the way to immortality as the longest-reigning WWE Champion of the modern era, and it changed WWE's perception of him as a top guy. Watching it back still gives one chills, as it should. It's timeless stuff.
