10 Best Wrestling No-Sells Ever

6. Jerry Lawler's Strap

During the '70s and '80s, Jerry Lawler was dubbed the King of Memphis wrestling, and with good reason. 'The King' became a massive hero in the Memphis territory during its heyday, selling out the Mid-South Coliseum multiple times during his tenure and picking up virtually every accolade and championship that was available at the time.

Naturally, no hero would be complete without a hero spot, and for Lawler, he had devised a simple one. Though he was never the most technical wrestler, Lawler's gift lied in knowing how to work a crowd. When the time was right and things would get serious, Jerry would pull down the single strap of his singlet, and, just like that, the crowd knew it was on.

If this sounds familiar, you may be flashing back to WWE, where Kurt Angle would do the same thing to an uproarious reaction. And as good as that was, it was lifted directly from Lawler. But ultimately, if you're going to borrow something, you might as well borrow from the King.
