This writer is old enough to remember the days when fans were lucky to see one or two great matches on WWE pay-per-views. Oh yes, the dark days of 1995 still haunt many, and that's why it'd be churlish to opine that Clash Of Champions was anything other than a success.

For a 'B' level pay-per-view, this was 'Grade A' stuff.

The three-way ladder chaos between Sami Zayn, AJ Styles and Jeff Hardy for the IC strap was amazing. Then, Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton had a corker of an 'Ambulance' brawl (that gimmick usually sucks, so their efforts shouldn't be taken for granted). Then, Roman Reigns showed why he's the best character in the biz today.

His family feud drama with Jey Uso was captivating. Both cousins told a story, a bloody good one, and they deservedly headlined the entire show. Even more impressively, they were just getting started and had more in store over the next few months.
