10 Best Wrestling Stable Wars
1. WCW vs. nWo
You were either with the nWo or you were against them, which is why seemingly half the roster joined Hulk Hogan’s side. They had the money, they had the power and they were making a mockery of WCW every single week.
It was at Bash at the Beach 1996 where the nWo was born, in one of the best moments in wrestling history. Hogan, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash formed their alliance that night to battle the best of Ted Turner’s organisation.
WCW’s top stars had to reluctantly band together to try to fight off these Outsiders, but were largely unsuccessful. They were able to pick up some big victories along the way like Sting defeating Hogan at Starrcade 97, but for the most part, their fight was in vein.
WCW sure tried, though, as their best wrestlers in Ric Flair, Roddy Piper and Diamond Dallas Page threw everything they had at the nWo. The two sides created a series of huge, money-making matches that more closely resembled the WWF vs. WCW than what we were given a few years later in The Invasion angle.
There has been no other stable feud so far that has come as close to this one in terms of pure profits and ratings. While the entire thing may have become a trainwreck at the end, the two factions waging war on one another remains one of the greatest storylines ever told in the history of the business.
