The formation of The Main Event Mafia was one of the most promising things TNA has ever done. While we were never given a satisfactory ending to the storyline, the first few months were generally a fun time.

Kurt Angle, Kevin Nash, Booker T, Scott Steiner and Sting joined forces for the purpose of beating some respect into the younger generation. After years of TNA pushing the Monday Night War heroes over their own talent, this seemed like the perfect time to create some stars and let the TNA originals side win in the end. It never quite happened.

Still, The MEM had great history and chemistry together, and it briefly gave A.J. Styles and Samoa Joe the spotlight as well as leadership roles. Sting also showed he could be an intriguing heel, as he did some of his best work in TNA during that time. It's just too bad the angle never got the ending it deserved.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
