For fans of a certain age, the nWo black and white vs. the black and red faction is remembered quite fondly. It was a war between two charismatic leaders, with an army of men lined up for battle behind them.

In 1996, Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash set out to take over the wrestling world. But massive egos like that can only co-exist for so long. The group was plagued with in-fighting, so Nash broke away, forming his own group. He took his best friend Hall with him, along with nWo mercenaries Curt Hennig, Rick Rude, Konnan and Hogan's other hated enemy, The Macho Man. Don't worry, Hogan still had Vincent and Brian Adams!

The black and white had the numbers, but the Wolfpac was composed of nothing but stars, and later added Lex Luger and Sting to their ranks. They also weren’t fighting a two-sided war, as Hogan’s camp was continuing their crusade against WCW.

Unfortunately, there was no final battle to settle the score. No Nash vs. Hogan match with everything on the line. It all ended as a jumbled mess with the group later reforming into a giant, ungodly behemoth.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
