One of the greatest rivalries in the history of the wrestling business was Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels. They’d been feuding off-and-on for years, with the heat between them continually building. But when each side got a few friends to watch their backs, things got even better.

It was family vs. degenerate friends, and country vs. country as many of the WWF's finest waged war.

While both sides were preoccupied with other feuds as well, when they came together it was magic. It should have gone on much longer, but things came to an abrupt and tragic end as Brian Pillman passed away in October of 1997, and the following month The Montreal Screwjob went down, soon leaving only Owen Hart in the company from the Hart side.

While everything we saw was entertaining, we can only wonder how good this feud could have been were it able to go on longer with all the players involved.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
