"Spotfest" need not be a derogatory term, particularly when describing this: one of the greatest spotfests of all time.

The stunt show style fit the rivalry. This three-way tag feud was all about escalating levels of danger, with various combinations of these teams pushing the envelope further and further with each new bout. That the Tables, Ladders, and Chairs gimmick was created specifically for this feud says it all and at WrestleMania X-7, in the stipulation's second bout, they perfected it.

TLC II was so chaotic and out of control that moments like Jeff Hardy's wobbling ladder walk enhanced it, making the violence feel rawer and less calculated. Speaking of Jeff, Edge spearing him out of the sky as he dangled from the belts remains an all-time great WWE spot, the likes of which they'd never attempt in today's era. That was the feud, though. That was these teams in a nutshell. You can never put the toothpaste back in the tube, but scoffing Colgate has rarely felt so good.

While bouts like this aren't for everybody, that this raised the bar for tag wrestling in WWE forever is undeniable. The Hardyz, Dudleyz, and Edge & Christian were three of the promotion's most over acts thanks to these wars. When was the last time a tag team was able to say that?
