10 Best Wrestling Tag Team Names Ever

1. Legion Of Doom

I'm fully aware that the name was originally used be a group of wrestlers in Georgia Championship Wrestling under the tutelage of Paul Ellering, a group that included Jake 'The Snake' Roberts and Arn Anderson among others, but it is the tag team of Animal and Hawk that the name is most closely aligned to.

They were also internationally known as the Road Warriors, which is an immensely cool name in its own right, but come on; Legion of Doom. If we break down the name, it just gets cooler. 'Legion' can mean a few things, either an army of sorts of merely something that is great in number. Doom however, well, that means one thing; death.

Animal and Hawk represented an army of death, a great destruction, and this slightly-biblical name suited them down to the ground. They pulled a grand total of zero punches, inflicting severe punishment on the poor sods they were booked to squash. A great destruction indeed.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
