10 Best Wrestling Tag Teams Of 2023

6. Aussie Open

Boot up Twitter/X, punch in "Aussie Open" and you're sure to see some comments downplaying what they bring to the party. Granted, that's how social media works, but it'd indicative of a wider bitch about AEW booking. You were initially told they're great because of things Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis had achieved elsewhere.

That made it challenging for more casual viewers to care much about the Aussies when they first popped up on All Elite telly, but 2023 has slowly-but-surely changed that. Matches vs. The Young Bucks, FTR, MJF and Adam Cole and others have earned Fletcher and Davis some stripes in Tony Khan's promotion.

Reigns as ROH and IWGP Tag Team Champs could've been better, but were either snuffed out due to hot angles ("Better Than You, Bay Bay!") or injuries. Generally, Aussie Open have shown themselves to be a proper tag team with more to offer going forwards into the new year.

Anyone who watched them develop on the UK indys will be chuffed about that.
