10 Best Wrestling Tournaments Ever

7. Vengeance '01 (WWE)

Why this tournament is #7: Yes, this four man bracket stretches the definition of the word tournament but a small draw still qualifies as a tournament none the less. Yet, what a tournament this was for WWE in 2001. Quite simply it featured four legitimate A-list superstars who would compete to become the first undisputed WWE/WCW champion in a one night event. It didn€™t disappoint with three high drama, quality matches and that crowned the new champion and made for a historic moment in wrestling history. Best Match: Chris Jericho vs. The Rock. These men had a fantastic history but almost everyone assumed that The Rock would triumph leading to another epic showdown with Steve Austin in the finals. Jericho essentially played the role of spoiler by beating The Rock (with outside interference from Vince McMahon) in a surprising, exciting match with his own Rock Bottom finisher. Unpredictability like this was a hallmark of the Attitude Era and almost no one who saw this bracket expected Jericho to make it past the first round. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsJRRq5V898 Winner and Aftermath: Chris Jericho captures not one but TWO world titles in the same night and becomes the first undisputed WWE/WCW Champion after beating both The Rock and Steve Austin. An absolutely historic night made even more memorable by the fact that this was Jericho€™s first time climbing the world title mountain. Add in the fact that he defeated the top two marquee stars of the Attitude Era in the same night and this was easily the greatest accomplishment of Jericho€™s career. Jericho€™s first title reign ended up being fairly forgettable but there was no doubt that his title win was hugely important.
