10 Best Wrestling Trilogies
3. Bret Hart Vs. Stone Cold
The series that made Stone Cold, Austin versus Bret Hart was spread over the course of nearly six months - their first bout coming at Survivor Series 1996, and their last at In Your House: Revenge of the 'Taker in April of the following year.
In an affront to most trilogies, though, the best one was the awkward second, in which the Texas Rattlesnake went down fighting in a brutal submission match at WrestleMania 13 (which remains one of the only WWE bouts to ever receive a five-star rating from Dave Meltzer).
What made this feud so memorable was, of course, the famous double-turn in Rosemont. Very few storylines in wrestling history have ever successfully flipped the script in quite the same way, and it catapulted Austin to god-like status thereafter.
