10 Best Wrestling Trios Ever

8. Legacy

From the past to the future.

That was the message WWE wanted to send by putting third generation headhunters Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase together in 2008. Their braggadocious claims that the old guard were done (a neat tweak to Randy's 'Legend Killer' character) instantly gave them heat with fans who liked the stars of yesteryear.

By smartly using Orton's rising star power to give Rhodes and DiBiase the rub, WWE were able to sneak some mic time in there for the sidekicks and later launch an unlikely babyface run for Randy. It was win-win, and it was a ton of fun while it lasted. Legacy, when it was kept to a threesome, simply ruled.

The additions of 'where are they now' fodder Manu and Sim Snuka did nothing for the group's dynamic, and it's better off if everyone forgets that even happened, but Randy, Cody and Ted were awesome initially. They had an air of Orton's earlier run in Evolution about them.
