10 Best Wrestling Trios Ever

6. The Fabulous Freebirds

The Freebirds belong on here solely because of that rompin', stompin' jam 'Badstreet USA'.

It summed up Michael Hayes in one track. He, as the vocal centrepiece of the trio, oozed charisma from every pore and acted as the smart-assed wisecracker to Terry Gordy's smash mouth style. Then, there was the quiet confidence of Buddy Roberts, the kind that simmered in the background with a punchable smugness.

Collectively, 'dem Fabulous Freebirds had the kind of faces you wouldn't tire of slapping. If you did, you'd likely get a thorough thrashing from big 'Bam Bam' for your troubles. That combo of slick promo ability (Hayes), genuine in-ring talent (Gordy) and reliability (Roberts) made the group iconic.

Despite a fleeting stay in the WWF, the Freebirds managed to make a name for themselves everywhere else, and they smashed up the NWA, WCCW and more with their work. Consider a walking, talking charisma machine like Hayes a real miss for WWE circa 1984.
