10 Best Wrestling Tweets You Must Read (Before Twitter Dies)

8. Vince McMahon Gets His Priorities Right

At the end of his golden period as a promoter - more or less the last century - Vince McMahon was criticised heavily for his inability to tell long-term stories.

And with good reason; his product was dire. Several developments would simply stop after a while, were he to have grown tired of or forgotten about them entirely. Even that which he actually focused on - Becky Lynch's rise as The Man, to use an infamous example - fizzled to sh*t in the end. Imagine Steve Austin apologising to the McMahon family and then not giving them the Stunner in a swerve. That's how egotistical the family became to the detriment of everybody else.

In a sensational move that proved correct the takes of @TribalChief5759008088048053, Vince actually retained his knack for long-term storytelling.

If the above tweet fails to embed, Vince on Twitter really put John Cena over when wishing him a happy birthday: "Happy Birthday John Cena! You effectively kept me in business, and complete me, for which I am eternally grateful".

It more or less reads.

A year prior to this, when it was his own son's birthday, he effectively sub-tweeted "You slithered out 48 years ago today you jumped-up little bastard."

The retrospective one-two punch of fatherly cruelty was even more vicious than No Mercy 2003.
