10 Best WWE Attitude Era PPVs

9. Armageddon 1999

No show is absolutely perfect, and everything has its flaws. Armageddon 1999 is no exception, and while it is perhaps the most flawed PPV on the list, the quality of everything else more than makes up for say, the four-corner evening gown pool match. The show starts with a battle royal, featuring (among others) The Dudleys, Hardyz, Edge & Christian and The Acolytes, four teams that reinvented tag team wrestling in the era. The show also sees the new arrival Kurt Angle face his first real challenge as he took on Steve Blackman, which gave Angle to show how quickly he had adapted to the squared circle, as well as his character chops. Kane and X-Pac's feud was super hot at the time, and the two oddly matched opponents had a hell of cage match. Chris Jericho won his first championship at this event, and the fondly remembered Rock & Sock Connection took on the New Age Outlaws at the height of their popularity. The absolute highlight of the event, however was the No Holds Barred match between Triple H and Vince McMahon. Both men went above and beyond in the main event, especially Vince who never needed to wrestle a day in his life and still bladed like a stuck Dusty Rhodes. It was this match that really solidified Triple H as WWF's ultimate antagonist in the wake of The Undertaker's leave of absense and who will ever forget Stephanie's shocking transformation from girl to grown woman as she betrayed her father and joined forces with her unlikely husband? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9LhYS7seH4
