You can pretty much pick out any two or three year period from Chris Jericho's career and call it a "comeback run". The guy takes more sabbaticals than anyone else on the roster thanks to his never-ending list of Fozzy tour dates along with the publication of 1,500 autobiographies.

Most agree, however, that his most productive WWE stint came between 2007 and 2010, during which time he dropped his catchphrase-loving, sparkly jacket-wearing goofball character in favour of a deeply embittered middle-aged man who wore a suit and tie.

This transformation was completed at SummerSlam 2008, where, during an altercation with Shawn Michaels, he ended up inadvertently clocking his wife Rebecca in the jaw - an accident he would later blame on the Heartbreak Kid (who, to be fair, probably picked the wrong time to start ducking punches).

As well as being the best character work of Chris Jericho's career, it was also the most successful in terms of material accomplishments. He held the World Heavyweight Championship three times, and fought Royal Rumble winner Edge in one of WrestleMania XXVI's headline matches.
