10 Best WWE Debuts Of The 2010s
5. AJ Styles
There weren't many bigger names in 2016 to have never worked for WWE than "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles.
Styles made his name in the NWA, later becoming one of the biggest stars of TNA when it broke away from the organisation. After over a decade with the promotion, Styles left to pursue other ventures, most notably in New Japan, where he led the legendary Bullet Club faction.
Styles announced he was leaving the Japanese promotion on the day of their biggest show of the year. WWE themselves confirmed Styles' signing on the 20th January 2016 and it was just four days later that WWE fans would get their first glimpse of Styles since he made a handful of appearances for the company in 2002.
The 2016 Royal Rumble match featured a whole host of memorable names, all of whom were vying for Roman Reigns' WWE Championship. The third man to enter and the man who would last almost half an hour in the match was none other than AJ Styles.
The Orlando audience went wild when Styles appeared at the top of the ramp. Some fans believed they would never see Styles in a WWE ring, yet here he was in their signature match, competing for their top title.
AJ's WWE career has gone from strength to strength ever since and this debut played a huge part in his continued success.
