10 Best WWE Divas Hired Thanks To The Diva Search

2. Eve Torres

Diva Search: 2007 (Winner)

Eve Torres is the perfect example of why WWE wants to do diva searches. She's a gorgeous woman that is educated, well spoken, athletic and showed a willingness to get better to improve at her job.

Eve won the 2007 Diva Search, which was the WWE.com version. Soon after that, she was given a WWE developmental deal and they put her on TV by January 2008. Two years later she won her first Divas Championship on Raw. It was one of those things where it felt like it was too early for her and she still needed to develop, but WWE always wanted to push her since she was a Diva Search winner. To her credit, she worked hard and kept improving.

Her career really took off in early 2012 when she was featured in a major storyline involving John Cena and Zack Ryder. They did an angle where Zack had a crush on her, she really wasn't that interested and used poor Zack to try to get closer to Cena. When she made a play for Cena, he saw through her and she was embarrassed. She ended up screwing Ryder at WrestleMania 28, costing his team the win. Then she became the top heel in the company working for GM John Laurinaitis.

It's a shame that she only had about a year run as a heel before choosing to leave the company in 2012 at the age of 28 because she was very good at being the bad girl. There was no question that she was the best heel diva during her run at the top. It seemed to come natural for her even though she had a reputation of a really nice woman.

After three Divas Championship reigns, she left WWE to start a family with husband Rener Gracie while working with the Gracie academy as an instructor in self defense courses. She's currently pregnant with the baby due in September, so it's likely that she won't ever return to WWE in a regular role again.
