10 Best WWE DVD Documentaries

1. The Rise And Fall Of ECW

The Rise and Fall of ECW is by far the most incredible release in WWE history. The scary thing? It could have been even better, and the complete story hasn't been told yet. Released in 2004, "Rise and Fall of ECW" not only opened the floodgates to the WWE covering other promotions via home video, it revived the ECW brand as a whole. The feature gave way to "One Night Stand" pay-per-views, the ECW brand extension, and over a half- dozen DVD releases to follow. Several former ECW stars, in addition to owner Paul Heyman all shared their thoughts on ECW's successes and ultimate demise in another extensive release from the company. An independently produced companion DVD, titled "Forever Hardcore" was released the following year, and turned heads, in addition to launching the shoot-interview career of New Jack. Although they were in business for less than 8 years, the story of ECW is one of the most interesting of any that can be told within wrestling. The company came from humble, gritty beginnings to a national television stage with a stable of misfits, many of which had never actually been trained to wrestle. Much of what made ECW thrive, was the thought that even those who loved it could be in the position of the top stars on the show. As this was produced in 2004 with only a handful of talents available to interview, it will be interesting to see if WWE opts to continue to capitalize on any and all ECW magic by releasing a follow up, interviewing a new cast of stars, and covering the "One Night Stand" pay-per-views, as well as the failed reincarnation of ECW.
