WWE has produced features on several promotions, ranging from Mid-South to the AWA, even World Class Championship Wrestling. None, however, were more anticipated than their 2009 release "The Rise & Fall of WCW." The DVD was already the subject of controversy during the early production stages, as former WCW President Eric Bischoff publicly rejected the WWE's overture to interview him for the feature. Luckily for WWE, they had plenty of footage from a 2003 interview to use in the production. The documentary saw stars such as Goldberg, Chris Jericho and Hulk Hogan, as well as the likes of Harvey Schiller, Gene Okerlund, and several others talk about what went into the success and eventual death of WCW. This, like many other WCW DVD's proved to be immensely successful, and the WWE has continued to capitalize off the brand, releasing over a dozen related titles, in addition to a "Monday Night Wars" show on the WWE Network. While this DVD has been accused of having WWE's revisionist history, it's a fantastic nostalgia piece that chronicles one of the greatest companies in wrestling history.
