1. Shinsuke Nakamura - NXT Takeover: Brooklyn II

As Bobby Roode can attest, live music performances can really give a bout that fabled ‘big match feel’. WWE has often employed the likes of Motorhead, Limp Bizkit and POD to perform Superstar entrance themes, but rarely do they stray far from tried and tested radio-friendly metal.

That’s what was so refreshing about Nakamura’s entrance at Takeover: Brooklyn – to see a skilled violinist Lee England Jr following the King of Strong Style to the ring is unprecedented, and it really added to the hype and grandeur of an already hugely anticipated NXT Title match. Nakamura’s entrances are always wonderful, thanks to the man’s infectious, language barrier-busting charisma, CFO$’s iconic theme, and some inspired lighting cues, but this one was something else.

Though Nakamura attempted to best himself in Toronto by adding even more violins, it didn’t quite work as well as the original, mainly because it was painfully obvious the violinists in Toronto weren’t actually playing Shinsuke’s theme. Maybe that’s why the night didn’t go in Nakamura’s favour – perhaps Lee England Jr is a lucky charm.
