If you're not a regular NXT viewer but happened to catch Shayna Baszler vs. Kairi Sane on the Evolution pay-per-view, then know that the 12-minute bruiser was one of their least impressive matches. Their Mae Young Classic final in 2017 showed the potential for what was to come, so definitely check that out for starters.

Then, cast a glance at their back-to-back stunners at TakeOver: Brooklyn 4 and WarGames II.

In the latter, Baszler and Sane defied brevity (their match was only 10 minutes) to squeeze as much drama as possible into their Two-Out-Of-Three-Falls encounter. The additions of Jessamyn Duke, Marina Shafir, Dakota Kai and Io Shirai also helped things, which was a nice contrast to interference typically taking away from the match.

Throughout the feud, NXT's writers have told an excellent tale of Sane's scrappiness when the chips are down and painted Baszler as a beast who could, with some seasoning, be a viable challenger for fellow ex-MMA fighter Ronda Rousey on the main roster.
