Ball shots galore.

That should've been the headline on the marquee for AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura. Roll up, roll up, and see a recently-turned Japanese rockstar repeatedly twang your beloved WWE Champion in the nuts. Despite that one-note booking idea, AJ and Shinsuke managed to make their rivalry worthwhile and more about disrespect than the fact Styles needs a cup for Xmas 2018.

Their WrestleMania match, bogged down by the babyface vs. babyface gimmick, wasn't as good as subsequent efforts when they were allowed to fly free. As a heel, Nakamura appeared to have an edge he lacked as face, and the feud allowed AJ to cut some seriously fiery promos. That was good, because Naka wasn't doing much talking.

His smart-arsed 'me no speak English' routine only heightened his smugness, and it peaked right in time for Styles to win a feud-ending 'Last Man Standing' match at Money In The Bank. Although Shinsuke has toiled since, he can be proud of how this story exorcised the demons of a dire Jinder Mahal feud the year before.
