10 Best WWE Heel Moments Of 2017
6. Samoa Joe Attacks Seth
As 2017 WWE debuts ago, there were perhaps none as impactful as that of Samoa Joe, who surprised everyone by rocking up on Monday Night Raw in January and unleashing a vicious assault on an unsuspecting Seth Rollins.
On paper, this was simply a good heel moment. It then turned into a great one with the news that the Architect had actually been legitimately injured during the attack, throwing his ability to compete at WrestleMania, and get even with Triple H, into doubt.
It was compounded by the fact that Joe had been recruited by The Game with the express aim of putting Rollins on the shelf. By aligning him with the one man on the WWE roster (outside Roman Reigns) who guarantees boos, fans could only cheer the former TNA star's long-awaited Raw arrival so much.
In a way, this segment embodied everything about Joe's first 12 months on the main roster. He was thrown only a few crumbs by the company's creative team all year, but everything he did, he did almost flawlessly, and with an authenticity that we rarely see inside the squared circle.
