10 Best WWE Heel Moments Of 2017
3. KO Headbutts Vince
Without question, the most jaw-dropping WWE moment of 2017 came when Vince McMahon got his skull split open by a Kevin Owens headbutt, an act of brutality of the kind we hadn't seen on our screens since that SummerSlam ending last year.
This moment owed chiefly to a committed performance from the chairman of the WWE board, who rightly identified that fans are hard-wired to cheer whomever pits themselves against him, and it was only by perpetrating the most viscerally shocking form of attack could his assailant actually be booed.
And it worked to devastating effect. KO had just headbutted a man old enough to be his grandfather, and which is more, he did it after tricking him into agreeing that there would be no consequences to his actions. It wasn't just an act of violence, but a pre-meditated one too.
Needless to say, none of that is to imply that this segment wasn't completely dumb. No 72-year-old man, however much time they spend pumping iron at the gym, should ever purposely draw blood the "hard way" in the name of our entertainment.
