The excellent Canadian Stampede went down as one of the best wrestling shows of the 1990s, and like all great shows, it needed a star performance.

That star performance came courtesy of Stone Cold Steve Austin, who - for one night only - stepped back into the heel role he had swapped with Bret Hart during the famous double turn at March's WrestleMania 13.

Having been pitted opposite the 'Hitman' deep in Hart territory, the 'Texas Rattlesnake' - who hadn't a hope nor prayer of being cheered - took every available opportunity to wind up the heavily partisan crowd, in a way that only he really could.

Fortunately for those on security, Austin's side went on to lose the five-on-five main event to the team of hometown heroes.
