10. Bret Hart vs. Jean-Pierre Lafitte (September 24, 1995)
The main event of In Your House 3 featured a confusing 'Triple Header' encounter pitting Shawn Michaels and Diesel against Yokozuna and The British Bulldog. All of the major WWF titles were up for grabs in the match, but it ended without a satisfying result. Fans were less than thrilled by the pay-per-view in general, but it did include one surprising bout. Right before the main event, Bret Hart tangled with Jean-Pierre Lafitte. Previously, Lafitte had been part of The Quebecers, but he was now playing a pirate gimmick as the year came to a close. The story hook for the pay-per-view match revolved around Lafitte stealing Hart's custom ring jacket, which is hardly the most incendiary way to kick off a feud. Thankfully, the actual match itself proved to be worthwhile. Despite his cartoon-like gimmick, Lafitte was a good worker who matched up well against the ever-able 'Hitman'. Both guys went over 15 minutes, and the bout ended with a crowd-pleasing Bret Hart win. Talk about making the best of a bad situation, but this match deserves more praise.
