10 Best WWE In Your House Matches Ever

5. Steve Austin vs. The Rock (April 25, 1999)

In Your House 28: Backlash would be the last ever under the In Your House banner. The following month, the promotion would present Over The Edge, a show which shed the subtitle entirely. In terms of In Your House shows, it's the last one that counts, and it included a main event that peaked a lot of interest from fans. The previous month, Steve Austin and The Rock had contested a wholly satisfying brawl at WrestleMania XV. At Backlash, they would once again be at loggerheads, only this time there was a twist. Shane McMahon was installed as the Special Guest Referee for the match, which gave the company another excuse for an Austin vs. Rock rerun so shortly after 'Mania. Fought under 'No Holds Barred' rules, the match was another typical example of why management continually put both men in the ring with one another. Oddly, the main event was a minute or so shorter than both bouts that preceded it (Triple H vs. X-Pac and The Undertaker vs. Ken Shamrock), but it was still another excellent chapter in the Austin/Rock rivalry.
