In the final match, 'The Next Big Thing' defeated Rob Van Dam (the then-Intercontinental Champion) in less than six minutes.
After winning the very last edition of the King of the Ring on PPV, Lesnar went on to have one of the best rookie years in WWE history.
In the 12 months that followed, Brock defeated The Rock to become the youngest WWE Champion in history (at that time), took down The Undertaker inside Hell in a Cell and won the main-event of WrestleMania XIX against Kurt Angle.
One year after winning the tournament, Lesnar was WWE Champion and was now the company's top babyface.
